What is your purchasing, cancellation, and refund policy for workshops or courses?
Here's our policy for purchasing, cancellations, and refunds. It applies to public workshops organized by Cathy Moore, online or in person. Third-party events at which Cathy is speaking or offering master classes will have their own policies.
To pay for a seat in a course or access to course materials, click the "register now" button and use a credit card. Purchase orders aren't accepted.
If you're required to go through a third party to buy training, that third party will also need to click the "register" button and use a credit card. The person paying for the training will receive important registration instructions that they must forward to the end participant. Cathy Moore and Django Labs, LLC aren't responsible for the failure of purchasers to forward information to participants in a timely manner, or for their failure to supply the names and email addresses of the participants to the course organizers.
We don't accept purchases through QA.com. Please purchase directly by clicking the "register" button and using a credit card.
I can't attend and want a refund.
Please let us know through our contact form. The amount of your refund depends on how much notice you give.
- At least 30 days before the start of the event: 100% refund credited to the card used to make the registration
- Less than 30 but at least 14 days: 75% refund
- Less than 14 days: 50% refund
- On or after the start date: Sorry, no refund
I want to attend the same workshop on a different date.
No problem. If there's still space available in the workshop you want to transfer to, we'll move you there. If no space is available, we'll refund your registration as described above.
I want a colleague to attend the workshop in my place.
Please let us know through our contact form. For most workshops, it's best to make this change at least two weeks before the event so the new participant has a chance to do any necessary prework.
The latest we can transfer your registration to a colleague is one day before the beginning of the workshop. Please give us both your name and email address and the name and email address of your replacement.
I registered but didn't attend.
Sorry, no refunds are available if you didn't cancel in advance. All sessions are recorded and the recordings are available for a year, so you can see what you missed.
I attended but want a refund.
If the course isn't useful for you, please let Cathy Moore know as soon as you begin to have doubts. We're happy to discuss a refund if you communicate with us as soon as you decide the course isn't a good fit. For multi-session, hands-on courses such as the scenario design course, we don't provide refunds after the third live session if you've chosen not to do the work of the course. This means we need to have seen at least one homework assignment from you, or you need to explain why it wasn't possible for you to do any of the work and thus benefit from the course, before we will issue a refund.
Refunds will only be made to the credit card that originally paid for the course. Refunds aren't available after 120 days from the date the registration was purchased.
I no longer have access to the email I registered with.
If your employer paid for your access but you have since left your job, please have your former employer ask us to switch your registered account to your personal address.
Other cancellations and schedule changes
It's unlikely to happen, but we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule an event due to low enrollment, presenter illness, or other circumstances. If the event is cancelled, participants will receive a full refund of their registration fee. If the event is rescheduled, participants will have the option of attending the rescheduled event or receiving a full refund.
If we cancel or reschedule a workshop or other event, we won't refund your travel, lodging, or meal expenses. We suggest you make refundable travel arrangements.
