What is your purchasing, cancellation, and refund policy?

Here's our policy for purchasing, cancellations, and refunds. It applies to public workshops organized by Cathy Moore, online or in person, and materials available through actionmapping.com. Third-party events at which Cathy is speaking or offering workshops will have their own policies.

Purchasing

To pay for a seat in a workshop or access to online materials, click the "register" or "add to cart" button and use a credit card. Purchase orders can't be accepted.

If you're required to go through a third party to buy training, that third party will need to click the "register" button and use a credit card. The person paying for the training may receive important registration instructions that they must forward to the end participant. 

Cathy Moore and Django Labs, LLC aren't responsible for the failure of purchasers to forward information to participants in a timely manner, or for their failure to supply the names and email addresses of the participants. 

We don't accept purchases through QA.com. Please purchase directly by clicking the "register" button and using a credit card.  

I can't attend a live event and want a refund. 

Please let us know through our  contact form. The amount of your refund depends on how much notice you give.

  • At least 30 days before the start of the event: 100% refund credited to the card used to make the registration
  • Less than 30 but at least 14 days: 75% refund  
  • Less than 14 days: 50% refund
  • On or after the start date: Sorry, no refund  

I want a colleague to attend a live event in my place. 

To transfer your seat to a colleague, please let us know through our contact form. For most workshops, it's best to make this change at least two weeks before the event so the new participant has a chance to do any necessary prework. 

The latest we can transfer your registration to a colleague is one day before the beginning of the workshop. Please give us both your name and email address and the name and email address of your replacement. 

I registered for a course or event but didn't attend. Can I attend a future event for free?

No. Seats are limited. If you can't attend the event you registered for, please cancel as described above, or transfer your seat to an employee who can attend. 

If you don't cancel your registration or transfer your seat to a colleague, you will stay registered for the event. You can use the login information you were given at registration to access the recording(s) of the event and any online materials. These are usually available to registrants for a year after the event. See the description of the event for details.

I attended a live event but want a refund.

For one-session events: Please contact us for a refund within 30 days of the workshop. Refunds aren't available after 30 days.

For multi-session workshops: If the workshop isn't useful for you, please let Cathy Moore know as soon as you begin to have doubts. We're happy to discuss a refund if you communicate with us as soon as you decide the material isn't a good fit. For multi-session, hands-on workshops such as the live scenario design course, we don't provide refunds after the third live session if you've chosen not to do the work of the course. This means we need to have seen at least one assignment from you, or you need to explain why it wasn't possible for you to do any of the work and thus benefit from the course, before we will issue a refund. Refunds aren't available after 30 days from the date the workshop began. 

I bought access to self-paced materials, such as a toolkit, but want a refund.

If you've decided not to use the online materials you've purchased, please contact us for a refund within 30 days of your purchase. Refunds aren't available after 30 days.

I no longer have access to the work email I registered with.

If your employer paid for your access but you have since left your job, please have your former employer ask us to switch your registered account to your personal address. 

I want you to refund my payment to a different credit card.

Refunds will only be made to the credit card that originally paid for the event or material. 

Other cancellations and schedule changes 

It's unlikely to happen, but we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule an event due to low enrollment, presenter illness, or other circumstances. If the event is cancelled, participants will receive a full refund of their registration fee. If the event is rescheduled, participants will have the option of attending the rescheduled event or receiving a full refund. 

If we cancel or reschedule a workshop or other event, we won't refund your travel, lodging, or meal expenses. We suggest you make refundable travel arrangements.
